- Arlington Regional Master Naturalists (ARMN), a volunteer organization providing environmental education, outreach, stewardship, and citizen science dedicated to beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within Virginia. Alyssa has been a Master Naturalist since 2014.
- Audubon at Home, a certification program for homes, schools and places of worship serving as wildlife sanctuaries. Alyssa serves as co-coordinator of the program in Arlington and Alexandria and is an Audubon at Home Ambassador.

- Master Gardeners of Northern Virginia (MGNV), an organization of volunteers who work with the staff of Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) to encourage and promote environmentally sound gardening practices. Alyssa has been an Extension Master Gardener since 2012.
